Missing index recommendation for an already existing index

SQL Server missing index DMVs suggest to create an index which already exists. The existing one and the suggested one exactly overlap each other; they are single (same) column index with no included columns. For testing purposes, I created the index and the suggestion disappeared off the DMV. Once I dropped the testing index, it appeared again. I was just wondering what would the reason be behind it.
