My database engine cannot see one of the drives

I installed SQL Server 2012 on a VM that has two harddrives, C and E. I can log into the Database Engine, but when I attempt to attach a database that is on E, Drive E is not available. Only Drive C is an option. How can I add Drive E as an option?
