Split a row into multiple rows of one product

I'm using OpenCart (Kind of new to it) & I'm sort of stuck in between database issue. I've made 2 separate tables to integrate it with Desktop app so the client can get the orders been placed on website on his desktop app. Now the problem is when I'm taking the values on product_description's description column,it's been inserted with special characters and therefore on c# I can't produce report for it. What i want is, how i can sanitize it from special characters, and insert the values in the database after every comma.

For example I've got : '& <span style="font-size: 13px; line-height: 20.7999992370605px;">Cheese, Tomato Sauce, Fresh Tomato, Peppers, Doner Meat, Jalapeno, Spicy Beef & Mushroom</span> '

I only need values like Tomato Sauce, Fresh Tomato, Pepper etc to be inserted as new row.
