Differences between Authentication Types in MySQL Users and Privileges

I noticed that when I create a new account, that there are three different Authentication Typesavailable to choose from in MySQL Users and Privilegeswindow.

What I am wondering is:

1. What is the difference between all of them


2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using one over the other


3. If one over the other are used in specific scenarios.
