How to edit a database .sql file?

I have made a .sql file. I use the MySQL database via WAMP on Windows and via MAMP on Mac. I need to forward the file to someone. In the database one of the names (text fields) has been entered wrong. I can edit it on my laptop, but when I send it to my friend, the file still has the same wrong name as before.

If I drop the database and import it again, the wrong name is still there.

Please suggest how I may edit the .sql file to have the correct name?
